In my journey through spiritual work, healing, and connection to the unseen, I've come to believe that the human soul isn’t just one singular thing. I see it as something much more layered and sacred. I believe our soul is made up of three parts, each doing something different, each with its own path. Together, they shape who we are, what we leave behind, and where we go next.
The first part of the soul is what I call the Witness. This is the part of you that people knew in this life, the part that had memories, laughter, struggles, and love. When we pass on, this part doesn’t just disappear. I believe it stays close. This is the presence you feel when you sense someone is near after they’ve passed. This is the voice mediums hear, the guide that helps from the other side. It’s not stuck. It stays by choice, to help, to comfort, to continue loving from just beyond the veil.
The second part is what I see as our Divine Core. It’s the part that never lost its way. The part of you that was kind, purposeful, and deeply connected to your truth. When we die, this is the part that goes “up” into heaven, the cosmos, Source, or whatever your soul believes in. It’s the part of you that truly fulfilled something during this life, and it’s ready to rest. It becomes one with something greater. I think of it as our light body, finally free.
Then there’s the third part: the Shadow Fragment. This is the piece of your soul that carries the weight. The karma, the wounds, the unfinished business. This part is the one that comes back. It can be reborn anywhere, in any form, across any lifetime. It’s not about punishment, it’s about opportunity. This is the part of the soul that gets another chance. Whether that means learning to love again, to speak up, to forgive, or just to experience something fully, this fragment is here to keep growing.
I don’t believe humans can fully break the cycle of reincarnation. Not because we’re broken, but because being human means being imperfect. And honestly, that’s part of the beauty of it. We’re not here to be flawless—we’re here to be real. To love even when it’s hard. To stay soft when the world is rough. To try again, even when we’ve failed before.
This soul theory, to me, isn’t about escaping or earning our way out of this life. It’s about remembering. Remembering that we’re made of many pieces. That some parts are here, some are healing, and some are already home.
So if you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying something heavy, or like you’re not fully here, maybe you’re right. Maybe part of you is still watching, or still wandering, or already resting in the stars. And maybe that’s exactly how it’s meant to be.
With love,
Priestess Rain
